About us

THE KIMERU INSTITUTE is an organization for promoting Kimeru language history and culture. Kimeru history, language and culture face an existential threat of assimilation, erasure and extinction. We need to preserve them for our cultural identity, national diversity, and future generations. We are proud to collaborate with Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) to further our mission. This partnership enhances our ability to offer educational programs, conduct research, and promote the Kimeru heritage on a broader scale. Together, we work towards preserving the Kimeru culture and language, ensuring they remain vibrant and relevant for future generations.
